Ben Caillous at Camping Am\u00e9lia: an artistic journey in the heart of the campsite<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Ben Caillous’s murals at Camping Am\u00e9lia<\/strong> in Am\u00e9lie-les-Bains bring an artistic and poetic dimension to the campsite’s various spaces. In 2024, the artist created a large work under the covered area. Two years later, he completed this project with three murals installed under the arches of the main walkway.<\/span>
\nThrough his characters, landscapes, and scenes of daily life, <\/span>Ben Caillous<\/span><\/a> evokes nature, childhood, daydreams, and the gentle pace of life in the Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es-Orientales.<\/span><\/p>\n

In November 2024, Ben Caillous spent four days creating a <\/span>10-meter by 3-meter mural under the covered area of \u200b\u200bCamping Am\u00e9lia<\/span><\/a>.<\/span>
\nThis artwork depicts a journey through the Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es-Orientales region. The route begins in Am\u00e9lie-les-Bains, recognizable by its Saint-Martin church, then continues towards the Canigou peak before reaching Collioure.
\nAt the center of the mural, a small Catalan boy wearing a barretina (a traditional Catalan hat) rides his bicycle through the landscape. Around him, several postcards illustrate iconic locations to discover near Camping Am\u00e9lia.
\nThus, this creation celebrates local heritage while inviting vacationers to explore the region.<\/p>\n

Three murals to be installed in the campsite in 2026<\/h2>\n

In 2026, the collaboration between Ben Caillous and Camping Am\u00e9lia continued with the creation of three murals under the arches of the main walkway.
\nThese works depict three characters and three scenes of daily life, each telling the story of the campsite’s spirit in its own way. They evoke tranquility, childhood memories, simple moments, daydreaming, and a connection with nature.

Ben Caillous, street artist from Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es-Orientales<\/h2>\n

After studying film, Ben Caillous turned to street art. For the past ten years, he has been drawing his characters on the walls of various towns in the Catalan Country and beyond.
\nHis work is primarily inspired by childhood, poetry, and comics. His creations are easily recognizable thanks to their expressive characters and the recurring presence of a small red heart.
\nThis collaboration also showcases the work of a local artist to vacationers, spa visitors, and other travelers passing through Am\u00e9lie-les-Bains.<\/span><\/p>\n

A collaboration born in Cerdagne<\/h2>\n

Ben Caillous and Charl\u00e8ne, manager of Camping Am\u00e9lia, have known each other since primary school in Saillagouse, Cerdagne.
\nAfter pursuing different paths, they reconnected several years later through this artistic project. Together, they conceived works reflecting the campsite’s identity, the local landscapes, and the relaxed lifestyle of the Vallespir region.
